Case Study: Erskine

Nick helped transform the Erskine Garden Centre Café into a destination in its own right. The Garden Centre has now been sold and is no longer part of Nick Nairn Consultancy. Between 2010-14 with Nick’s brand, the Erskine charity cafe  exceeded all expectations of income.

John Brady, Director of Business Development, Erskine said: When we started regenerating the Erskine Garden Centre and creating the Vanishing Willows Café with Nick’s help, the charity benefitted immeasurably. We had so many comments about what a lovely place this is. And having Nick onboard has been fantastic, both in promoting the charity as a whole and in getting people through the door.

In the old Garden Centre and Cafe sales were £684k. We budgeted for £1.285m in the new setup. We exceeded that by bringing in £1.726m

The most important comments were from the customers:

‘Food was delicious – high quality’
‘Regular customer and enjoy my visit’
‘It’s great you have brought the friendliness of the old garden centre to the new one’
‘Delightful lunch with beautiful views’
‘Can’t find fault in any way’
‘Well trained, helpful, friendly staff’
